About the Material
Made from Desserto cactus leather (Mexico). Nopal cactus leaves harvested every 6-8 months without damaging the plant, dried in sun, blended with biobased polymers. 74% biobased, USDA Bio-Preferred, PETA-Approved Vegan at material level. Soft hand feel, water-repellent.
About BOHEMA
BOHEMA is a Polish family brand founded in 2018 by Sebastian and Wioletta Szypula. Every pair is handcrafted in our Kolbuszowa atelier (southern Poland) by Sebastian's parents: Edward, master shoemaker with 30 years of experience, assembles each pair; Halina, seamstress, hand-sews the uppers from plant-based leather. Three generations, one workshop, small batches.
Care
Wipe with damp cloth and mild soap when dirty. Apply the plant-leather cream included with every order over €200 every 2-3 months. Air dry away from direct sun or heat. Store with shoe trees or rolled paper inside to keep shape.
Sizing & Fit
BOHEMA uses European sizing 35-42. True to size for most feet. If between sizes, size up half — plant-based leather softens with wear but does not stretch significantly.
Shipping & Returns
EU shipping 2-4 working days (free over €200). UK 3-6 days. US 5-8 days. 14-day returns from delivery, free within EU. Boots must be unworn, in original packaging.

Questions about this product
What material are the Bohema Akira Pumps made from?
The Bohema Akira Pumps are made from Desserto cactus leather, a certified plant-based material derived from the Nopal cactus. It is 100% vegan and serves as a sustainable alternative to animal leather, offering a soft texture and durability comparable to traditional leather.
Are the Bohema Akira Pumps truly handmade, and where are they produced?
Yes, the Akira Pumps are handmade in Poland in a craft workshop. Each pair is produced with careful attention to detail, which is a hallmark of Bohema as a vegan footwear brand made in Polish craft workshops.
What style are the Bohema Akira Pumps and what occasions are they best suited for?
The Akira Pumps are lace-up ballerinas with a minimalistic silhouette inspired by Japanese aesthetics. Their clean, elegant design makes them versatile for everyday wear, city outfits, smart-casual looks, and occasions where you want a refined yet understated shoe. They pair well with tailored trousers, midi skirts, or simple dresses.
Do the Bohema Akira Pumps work for narrow or wide feet, and how do they fit?
The Akira Pumps feature a lace-up closure, which allows some adjustment around the foot for a more customized fit. This makes them a good option for women with a narrower foot who want a secure hold, as the lacing helps avoid slippage. If you have wider feet or a high instep, it is recommended to size up or contact Bohema directly for fit guidance, as the ballerina silhouette tends to run closer to the foot.
