Viridis® corn leather: Panama Trimmings (Italy), non-food corn upcycle

The uppers are made of Viridis® corn leather, an innovative plant-based material developed in Italy from corn dextrose, the skins, seeds and stems left over after winemaking. Instead of being discarded, this biomass is transformed into a soft, supple leather alternative containing roughly 74% biobase content. Viridis® carries OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification, which guarantees the absence of harmful substances, and it is produced with a low water and energy footprint. The material is naturally breathable, flexible and resistant to creasing, so the shoe keeps its shape season after season. The signature double strap is what makes the Twin Mary Jane truly comfortable. Two adjustable straps wrap the foot independently, so narrow feet stay secure and wider feet are never pinched. Yes. The Twin Mary Jane Yellow is 100% vegan. The uppers are made of Viridis® corn leather, the lining is plant-based, the glues are vegan certified and no animal products are used at any stage of production.

What is Viridis® corn leather?
Viridis® is an Italian plant-based leather alternative made from corn dextrose, the skins, seeds and stems left over after winemaking. It contains around 74% biobase, is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified and offers a soft, flexible feel that wears in beautifully over time.

How do I clean corn leather?
Wipe the surface with a soft damp cloth and a drop of mild soap if needed. Air-dry away from direct heat and sunlight. Every few months, apply a thin layer of plant-based leather balm to keep the material supple. Avoid soaking, machine washing and harsh chemical cleaners.

What sizes are available?
The Twin Mary Jane Yellow is available in EU sizes 36 to 42. The fit is true to size, so we recommend ordering your usual size. If you are between sizes, the double strap closure allows you to fine-tune the fit.

Are these comfortable for narrow or wide feet?
Yes. The double strap closure adjusts independently across the instep, so the shoe holds a narrow foot securely without gaping and gives a wider foot enough room without pinching. Many of our customers with bunions or wider forefeet love this model for that reason.

Every pair is handmade in Poland in our family atelier. As a Polish family brand we work with local shoemakers and source plant-based leathers from European producers, keeping the entire supply chain transparent and close to home.

We ship available models within 2-5 business days. We ship custom-made models up to 9 business days.

Shipping of each model is duty free, and delivery options are FEDEX courier. You can return your order within 14 days. Return label is also paid by the client.

Cactus leather is a sustainable vegan leather created from Opuntia Nopal cactus and bioPU. Cactus leather meets the most stringent quality and environmental standards. Desserto® cactus leather is also partially biodegradable.

Viridis® Corn leather
